Fulton County Schools would like to say "welcome" to our newly-hired principals and administrative staff. We also offer our "congratulations" to existing employees that move into these positions as well. We are proud to present our newest team members here and on our FCS Social Media.

Yasmine McKenzie

Director of Applied Learning and Design

Congratulations to Yasmine McKenzie, the new Director of Applied Learning and Design. The Director of Applied Learning and Design is responsible for providing leadership and support in the areas of Performing Arts, Visual and Fine Arts, and Health and Physical Education, as well as, planning, managing, supporting, organizing, and implementing Summer School and After School Care.

Yasmine McKenzie began her career in education, teaching at the middle and high school levels in life and physical sciences. She then began providing professional learning and teacher development as an assessment program specialist supporting the 22 schools of the northeast learning community. She then transitioned to supporting district-wide in Fulton County by supporting schools through the administering of state and national assessments and monitoring compliance with state assessment regulations.

Dr. Erica Fox

Director of Accelerated and Extended Programming

Congratulations to Dr. Erica Fox, the new Director of Accelerated and Extended Programming. In this role, Erica will be responsible for the leadership, supervision, coordination, planning, and implementation of Talented and Gifted (TAG), Innovative Programs, Advanced Placement (AP), AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), International Baccalaureate (IB), choice programs and the Fulton County Schools Teaching Museum.

Dr. Erica Fox has been serving students, staff, and communities for almost 20 years. Over the course of her career, she has served as a teacher, department chair, literacy coach, AVID site team member, IB MYP teacher, district curriculum developer, PD developer and presenter, and more. Her experiences span across three states and various diverse learning communities. Most recently, she proudly worked as a Fulton County Secondary ELA Program Specialist, forging relationships across L&T in support of teacher practices and student growth. In her role as Program Specialist, Dr. Fox collaborated with other curriculum teams across L&T and Student Support Services to provide growth opportunities for Zone 4 & 5 coaches and teachers. This has led to more consistent messaging and aligned work in these learning zones, which in turn has positively impacted student achievement.

Dr. Fox is a graduate of the University of Tampa. After earning her degree, she chose to teach in an AmeriCorps school before joining the public sector. She also has a Masters in Educational Leadership and defended her dissertation in November, earning her a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. She is serving the current Past-President of the Georgia Association of Middle Level Education, having ended her Presidential tenure in March. Dr. Fox and her husband of almost 13 years are the parents of two darling children: (almost) a rising fourth grade girl and rising seventh grade boy. When she isn’t taxing her kids around to various activities, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, reading a good book, traveling, visiting a museum, rooting for the Red Sox, and wishing she was at Disney. She is excited to bring her experience, relationships, and ideas to this new role.
