Fulton County Schools would like to say "welcome" to our newly-hired principals and administrative staff. We also offer our "congratulations" to existing employees that move into these positions as well. We are proud to present our newest team members here and on our FCS Social Media.


Tiambi Walker

Tiambi Walker

Principal, Asa G. Hilliard Elementary School

Ms. Walker is a native of Warner Robins, Georgia, and began her teaching career in the Dougherty County School System in 2006. She joined Fulton County Schools in 2014, teaching science at Haynes Bridge Middle School for two years. Ms. Walker earned her Bachelor's degree from Fort Valley State University in Middle Grades Education. She went on to earn her Master’s and Educational Specialist degrees from Albany State University in Educational Leadership and Supervision.

Ms. Walker joined Atlanta Public Schools in 2016, serving at The Kindezi Schools teaching middle school math at Kindezi Old Fourth Ward. In 2017, she became a founding member of Kindezi Gideons and has served there for six years. Prior to becoming Principal in 2020, Ms. Walker served as Assistant Principal, Lead Testing Coordinator, and Tutorial Director.

Ms. Walker firmly believes that every child can excel and is innately gifted with genius. She believes that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their knowledge to shape their future and the future of our community. Ms. Walker has a passion for creating an environment of joy and a love for learning.

Ms. Walker is excited to join the team and work alongside everyone at Aas G. Hilliard Elementary. She cannot wait to meet the wonderful students, amazing staff, and outstanding community of the Panther family.

Ms. Walker is a proud mom to a toddler son, who has an extreme love of dinosaurs. She is a member of Berean Gwinnett Church and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In her free time she loves spending time with friends and family and of course, an extreme amount of retail therapy!


Tris Gilland

Tris Gilland

Executive Director, Exceptional Children

Dr. Tris Gilland has been serving Fulton County Schools as the Director of Compliance for Services for Exceptional Children (SEC) for the last 5 years. Prior to her current role, she was an SEC Director in FCS supporting Zones 1-4. She also served as president of Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education (G-CASE) from 2019-2021 following her role as Chair of the Legislative Committee from 2015-2019. Dr. Gilland completed her Ed.D. at the University of West Georgia in the area of School Improvement with a focus on Special Education. Dr. Gilland also fulfilled the requirements to become a Board Certified Behavior Interventionist in 2009.

Before joining the team in Fulton, Dr. Gilland was Director of the Program for Exceptional Children in Carroll County. She has classroom experience working with students with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and Behavior Disorders in Douglas County where she was also a District resource for instruction and behavior for students with various learning styles. Dr. Gilland is honored to have the opportunity to continue supporting the SEC Department in Fulton and looks forward to all the great work that will continue to result in success for our students.
