National School Lunch Hero Day is May 5
Between preparing healthy food, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, FCS nutrition professionals have a lot on their plates. To celebrate their hard work and commitment, FCS will celebrate School Lunch Hero Day on May 5. From their friendly greetings and the love they dish out with every student’s meal to how they encourage kids to eat more fruits and vegetables, our school nutrition professionals are true heroes.

Summer School Registration Ends May 25
Registration is open until May 25 for our Summer Learning Program. The Summer Learning Program provides an opportunity for students to accelerate or recover credits during the time between school years. Face-to-face and virtual offerings exist and often provide students with a broader array of options than those available during the school year. For invitation criteria, courses offered, and registration information, please visit the Summer Learning website.
May 15 is the Deadline for Open Enrollment Applications
FCS has identified 72 schools that can accept transfer students next school year through Georgia’s Quality Basic Education Act (also called House Bill 251), which allows parents of students enrolled in a public K-12 school to enroll in another school within the district if space allows. The application deadline is Monday, May 15, at 4:30 p.m., and parents will be notified of their child’s transfer status on June 30. Please click here to apply.
