Summer Learning Opportunities

Registration is now open for our Summer Learning Program! This program provides an opportunity for students to accelerate or recover credits during the time between school years. Face-to-face and virtual offerings exist and often provide students with a broader array of options than those available during the school year. Registration is open until May 25.

The Pre-K Lottery Application is open now through March 17. To apply, students must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2023 AND must live in the Fulton County Schools district. Click here to apply.

Bus Driver Safeguards, Educates Students During Roadway Delay

On a dark, windy, and stormy morning, less than a mile away from Birmingham Falls Elementary School, bus driver Katherine Carrier was stuck on a road with students when a tree knocked down a live electrical line. Mrs. Carrier and the students were forced to wait until emergency personnel could clear the road. What could have been a time of fear turned into a time of fun and learning, because of a dedicated school bus driver. Read more.

FCS Featured in Science of Reading Video

Fulton County Schools has prioritized teaching that aligns to the Science of Reading, which is why we adopted Heggerty as our phonemic awareness resource for all K-2 students. All K-2 teachers and leaders were trained in using this resource. We are honored that Heggerty recognized our teachers’ effective implementation and wanted to share our success across the nation. FCS Celebrates "Exceptional Children's Week" March 6-10

During the week of March 6-10, the district's Services for Exceptional Children department will be celebrating "Exceptional Children’s Week 2023." This is a time set aside to recognize our students with disabilities and other challenges. The theme is “Power in our Differences” and each day will feature a specific fun activity designed to raise awareness for all our students.
