Ben Hopkins

Ben Hopkins has been the Director of Building and Maintenance for the Clayton County Board of Commissioners since 2017. In this role, he spearheaded the County’s first facility master plan, implemented its inaugural CMMS system, and managed the comprehensive cleaning of County buildings for safe reopening post-COVID-19 closures. Ben previously held roles at Emory University, the City of Stockbridge, the Georgia Dome, and Clayton State University, where he led policy development, supervised maintenance teams, and developed staff training and onboarding programs.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies from Clayton State University and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University. Ben has been married to his wife, Paige, for 11 years, and they have one child, Bash. In his free time, he coaches his son’s sports teams, plays Magic: The Gathering with his wife, and enjoys following local professional sports. Ben is passionate about staying current with facilities management trends, effective leadership, and fostering connections between people and places.
