Tracee Ragland, a native of Chicago, Illinois, has devoted her professional career to advancing educational excellence in the Atlanta metropolitan area. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Grambling State University in 2005 and began her career in education in 2006 as an elementary school teacher in Chicago. In 2008, she relocated to Atlanta, where she taught eighth-grade mathematics in Atlanta Public Schools.

While teaching, Ms. Ragland continued to expand her professional expertise, earning a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as a Reading Endorsement. In 2015, she transitioned into an instructional coaching role at the elementary level, where she led her department to three consecutive years of mathematics growth. She later earned an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership.

In 2018, Ms. Ragland joined Fulton County Schools as a Mathematics Coach at Paul D. West Middle School. In this role, she built a strong foundation in teacher development, professional learning communities, and high-impact instructional practices. Her commitment to supporting every learner led her to obtain a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) endorsement.

Her leadership journey continued in 2021, when she was promoted to a district-level Mathematics Program Specialist. In this capacity, she developed curriculum resources and partnered with zone superintendents and school leaders to improve student achievement through targeted coaching, professional learning, and collaborative leadership.

From 2022 to 2026, Ms. Ragland served as Assistant Principal at Paul D. West Middle School in East Point, Georgia. During her tenure, she led curriculum and instruction initiatives, earned both Tier I and Tier II Leadership Certification, and played a key role in strategic school improvement planning. Through data-driven decision-making, she strengthened academic and operational systems, resulting in consistent gains in student achievement across all content areas, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, along with measurable growth in mastery and progress indicators.

Ms. Ragland is widely recognized for cultivating a positive, high-performing school culture. Her collaborative leadership style, strong relationship-building skills, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence and student well-being have had a lasting impact on the school communities she has served.

Outside of her professional role, Ms. Ragland enjoys spending time with her wife, son, and their Goldendoodle, Leo. She is a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs and enjoys listening to music and working on her latest LEGO project. She is also a proud and active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

As the new Principal of Heritage Elementary School, Ms. Ragland is excited to partner with students, staff, families, and the broader community. Her leadership is grounded in high expectations, strong relationships, and a shared commitment to ensuring every Jaguar thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.
