Tara Uremovich
Principal, Heards Ferry Elementary School
Tara Uremovich is excited and honored to serve as Principal of Heards Ferry Elementary School. With experience spanning special education, general education, instructional coaching, curriculum support and school administration, she brings a deep commitment to student learning, educator development, and strong school-community partnerships.
A graduate of Georgia State University, Mrs. Uremovich earned her Bachelor of Education, Master of Education, and Education Specialist degrees and has dedicated her career to supporting students and teachers across a variety of educational settings. Throughout her career, she has focused on creating learning environments where all students are challenged, supported, and empowered to reach their highest potential.
Prior to joining Heards Ferry, Mrs. Uremovich served as Assistant Principal at Woodland Elementary School, where she helped lead initiatives that contributed to academic growth, STEM recertification, a positive school culture, and improved outcomes for diverse groups of learners. She was recognized as Woodland Elementary's 2022-2023 Professional of the Year and has also supported districtwide attendance initiatives and collaborated with the Georgia Department of Education to develop STEM resources for schools across the state.
Mrs. Uremovich believes deeply in the power of relationships and high expectations. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child deserves to feel known, valued, and inspired to learn. She is passionate about creating environments where students, staff, and families feel connected, supported, and empowered to succeed. She also believes that one caring educator can change the trajectory of a child's life and is committed to ensuring every student experiences that same encouragement, belonging, and belief in their potential.
Mrs. Uremovich is excited to become part of the Heards Ferry community and to build meaningful relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners. She looks forward to listening, learning, and partnering with stakeholders as she works alongside the school community to continue Heards Ferry's tradition of excellence while fostering a culture of inquiry, growth, and connection. Outside of school, Mrs. Uremovich enjoys spending time with her family, reading, crafting, exploring new learning opportunities and enjoying a good cup of coffee. She and her husband are the proud parents of two children and are excited to welcome a third child to their family. As both an educator and a parent, she understands the importance of creating a school community where every child and family feels valued, supported, and connected.
She is honored to serve the Heards Ferry community and looks forward to working together to ensure that every student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally while continuing to soar as part of the Heards Ferry family.
