Executive Director of Academic Programs
Rebecca Williams is a distinguished educational leader with a robust and varied background. She earned her degree in Public Relations from the University of Georgia before transitioning to a career in education, driven by a passion for student engagement, growth, and equity.
Rebecca began her teaching career at Chattahoochee High School in the English department, where she taught various grades and levels. During her tenure, she emphasized the positive impact of student agency and accountability. She also served as a county cooperative learning facilitator, sharing research-based best practices with fellow educators. Rebecca furthered her expertise by earning a Master's degree from Georgia State University, focusing on student engagement.
After a hiatus to manage a small business and raise a family, Rebecca joined Alpharetta High School in 2004. Her commitment to fostering strong relationships, providing honest formative feedback, and imparting relevant real-world skills earned her the prestigious titles of AHS Foundation Hall of Fame, Teacher of the Year and Fulton County Teacher of the Year. As the English Language Arts department chair, she promoted collaboration through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and shared leadership. Rebecca continued her education, earning an Educational Leadership Degree from Valdosta State University with a focus on differentiation. As Assistant Principal at Alpharetta High School, Rebecca played a pivotal role in implementing school-wide initiatives that enhanced the school’s culture and boosted student achievement.
In 2017, she became the proud principal of Webb Bridge Middle School, where she prioritized building a positive culture and community, and fostering the development of well-rounded, self-sufficient scholars. Under her leadership, WBMS consistently increased academic achievement across all subjects, enhanced students' sense of belonging, and received numerous accolades, including State and National School of Character, No Place for Hate, Distinguished PBIS School, and Solution Tree Model PLC school.
Rebecca Williams is humbled and enthusiastic about her new role as Executive Director of Academic Programs, where she will bring her expertise to Fulton County’s Learning and Teaching Department.
