Patrick Wright - Congratulations!

Patrick Wright

Principal, Cogburn Woods Elementary School

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Cogburn Woods Elementary School. I am honored to join a school community known for its tradition of excellence, strong family partnerships, and commitment to supporting every child.

Education has been my life’s work and passion. I began my career teaching fourth grade in Phenix City, Alabama before moving to Georgia and joining Fulton County Schools, where I taught first and third grades at Lake Windward Elementary School.

My passion for instructional leadership led me to serve for nine years as a Curriculum Support Teacher and Assistant Principal at Manning Oaks Elementary School. During that time, I had the privilege of partnering with students, staff, and families to support academic growth, strengthen school culture, and build systems that support student success. Most recently, I have served as the sixth grade Assistant Principal at Ridgeview Charter Middle School, where I have continued my commitment to instructional excellence, student support, and collaborative leadership.

Throughout my career, I have believed strong schools are built through relationships, high expectations, and a shared commitment to children’s success. I value creating a culture where students feel known and supported, teachers feel empowered, and families feel welcomed as true partners in the life of the school.

As I begin this new journey at Cogburn Woods, I look forward to listening, learning, and building alongside you. My goal is to honor the great work already happening while continuing to strengthen a school culture centered on academic excellence, belonging, and opportunity for every child. I believe schools are strongest when we work together as one community with one shared purpose—doing what is best for children.

On a personal note, family is at the center of my life. My husband and I are proud parents of three children: Braxton (15), a 10th grader at Roswell High School, and Russell (7) and Emerson (6), who attend River Eves Elementary School. As a parent of school-aged children, I understand the trust families place in schools each day, and I deeply value the partnership between home and school. As a family, we enjoy spending time together, supporting our children in their activities, traveling and making lasting memories.

I am incredibly excited to become part of the Cogburn Woods family and look forward to meeting each of you in the weeks ahead. Together, I know we will continue building on the strong foundation that Ms. Garosi’s incredible leadership has established.
