Monica L. Roberts is a native of Savannah, GA, who has dedicated over 17 years to middle school education as a teacher, leader, and district support specialist. Having served as the assistant principal at Sandtown Middle School, Ms. Roberts brings a wealth of experience and insight into the unique needs and strengths of the school’s students and teachers.

Ms. Roberts holds a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education from Clayton State University, a Gifted Certification, and advanced degrees from Mercer University including a Master of Education in Mathematics and a Specialist in Educational Leadership. As an instructional leader, she has a proven track record of improving student outcomes, evidenced by significant achievements such as a 6.7-point increase in Georgia Milestones Content Mastery, a 4.07-point rise in Science performance, and a remarkable 20 53-point gain in Social Studies performance at Sandtown Middle School in 2024.

Ms. Roberts values family, education, and relationships, believing in the power of collaboration and open communication. She is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels safe, valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential. Committed to working closely with teachers, parents, students, and community members, Ms. Roberts aims to ensure that Sandtown Middle School remains a vibrant hub of learning and innovation.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Roberts enjoys spending quality time with her two sons and one daughter, cherishing moments with family and friends. She is eager to serve the dedicated teachers, vibrant community, and, most importantly, the scholars of Sandtown Middle School.
