Mrs. Jovita Wallace has been named the next principal of Woodland Middle School beginning at the conclusion of this school year. Mrs. Jovita Wallace brings more than 24 years of experience in education to her new role as Principal of Woodland Middle School.

A proud native of Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs. Wallace is a graduate of Spelman College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, graduating magna cum laude. She went on to receive her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University and holds a K–12 reading endorsement along with several additional certifications. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership, a testament to her belief in lifelong learning and continuous improvement.

Mrs. Wallace has distinguished herself as an innovative, collaborative, and student-centered leader. She has served in several key roles over her career including Teacher, Curriculum Support Teacher, Intervention Specialist, District Math Trainer, Assistant Principal, and most recently as the Principal of Brookview Elementary, one of the elementary schools that feeds into Woodland.

Under her leadership, Brookview earned districtwide and state-level recognition for outstanding academic growth and school climate, was named a Georgia Department of Education PBIS Distinguished School, and received the 2024 “Beating the Odds” designation. These honors reflect her commitment to fostering a culture of care, achievement, and high expectations for all.

Mrs. Wallace is passionate about cultivating strong relationships with students, staff, and families to build a thriving school community. As she begins her tenure at Woodland Middle School, she is excited to lead with purpose, inspire excellence, and empower every Wolverine to succeed.
