Dr. Aja Wilkins - Welcome!
Dr. Aja Wilkins
Principal, Wolf Creek Elementary School
Aja Wilkins, originally from New York City, completed most of her schooling in Orlando and Tallahassee, Florida. With over 18 years of experience in education, Dr. Wilkins has recently served as an Elementary School Principal. She has been instrumental in closing the gap within the Special Education subgroup, reducing discipline occurrences through PBIS implementation, and increasing Math and ELA proficiency by an average of 8%. Dr. Wilkins has led and supported multiple schools in Orange County, FL. including underperforming schools that saw an average increase of 19% in ELA proficiency and 31% in Math proficiency. Her roles have included Assistant Principal, Administrative Dean, and Classroom Teacher in both General Education and Exceptional Student Education settings.
During her undergraduate studies, Dr. Wilkins attended Florida A&M University, where she was a member of the renowned Marching 100 band. She later transferred to the University of Central Florida, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She returned to UCF for her master's in education and received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from Florida State University, along with a Certificate in Program Evaluation.
Dr. Wilkins values time spent with family and friends and cherishes making memories. She is dedicated to ensuring all students receive a quality and equitable education. She strives to equip educators with the tools to support students academically and emotionally. Dr. Wilkins is committed to fostering an environment where every student can thrive and achieve their fullest potential at Wolf Creek, where great learning is already taking place and pathways to success are continuously being built.
