Ms. Burns previously played a pivotal role in launching Fulton County’s first virtual school, serving grades 2–12 as the Assistant Principal of the Fulton Academy of Virtual Excellence. Under her leadership, the school was recognized as a PBIS operational school, with a reduction in out-of-school suspension days and improved English Learner proficiency through a targeted 90-day instructional plan.

Ms. Burns has a proven track record of boosting student achievement across all content areas. She has led double-digit gains in math, science, ELA, and social studies at both the middle and high school levels. Her leadership is rooted in the belief that strong literacy and math foundations in elementary school are essential for long-term success. She is dedicated to ensuring every Randolph student becomes a confident reader and critical thinker—prepared to thrive in middle school, high school, and beyond.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education from the University of Georgia, as well as a Master’s and Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia. She also holds multiple endorsements and certifications, including Tier 2 Educational Leadership, Gifted, Reading, and Instructional Technology.

She is honored to lead the A. Philip Randolph Elementary community looks forward to partnering with staff, families, and the broader community to foster a culture of joy and academic excellence for every child.
