Fulton County Schools Leads State in 2025 Academic Performance and Growth Awards

Fulton County Schools is proud to announce the district has earned the highest number of honors statewide in the 2025 Single Statewide Accountability System awards, with 39 schools recognized for outstanding academic performance and student growth.
“This recognition reflects the focused work happening in our classrooms every day,” said Fulton County Board of Education President Kristin McCabe. “Across our schools, students are being challenged, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed. We are proud of the educators and leaders who make this level of performance possible.”
The SSAS awards, issued by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement, are based on three years of College and Career Ready Performance Index data and recognize schools in two categories: Greatest Gains and Highest Performing.
FCS demonstrated strong results across both measures:
- 24 schools earned Greatest Gains awards, an increase of four from the previous year
- 34 schools earned Highest Performing awards, an increase of six from 2024
- 19 schools were recognized in both categories
Top-tier recognition also expanded across the district. Eight schools achieved Platinum status for Greatest Gains, while 10 schools earned Platinum recognition for Highest Performing, marking a notable increase in the highest level of distinction.
“These results speak to the strength of our system and the intentional work happening at every level,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. “We are seeing progress in student growth alongside strong academic outcomes, and that combination matters. It reflects the commitment of our teachers, school leaders, and staff to meet the needs of every student.”
Schools across all grade levels contributed to the district’s results, with many maintaining high performance or advancing to higher recognition tiers compared to the prior year.
More detailed information, including a full list of recognized schools and award levels, can be found in the district’s executive summary.
