Fulton County Schools Sets Historic Record in Graduation Rate and Outperforms State in Key CCRPI Metrics

Fulton County Schools (FCS) has continued a remarkable four-year streak by achieving a historic milestone with a new four-year graduation rate of 90.7%. The district also surpassed state performance in the other key metrics outlined by Georgia’s College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI).

"This achievement reflects our district’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and the incredible efforts of our students, educators, and families," said Board President Kimberly Dove. "Fulton County Schools continues to lead the way in preparing students for success in school and beyond.”

The CCRPI evaluates schools based on five key components: Content Mastery, Progress, Closing Gaps, Readiness, and Graduation Rate (high schools only). FCS outpaced state averages in every category across elementary and middle schools, and four of five components in high school.

Elementary and Middle School Highlights

Closing Gaps Excellence: FCS achieved a perfect score of 100 in Closing Gaps for both elementary and middle schools, marking the highest possible rating.

Content Mastery Growth: Middle school students demonstrated year-over-year increases in English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies, reflecting the district’s focus on robust curriculum and instruction.

High School Performance

High schools in Fulton County excelled in four of the five measured categories, outperforming state averages in Content Mastery, Progress, Readiness, and Graduation Rate. However, the district fell slightly short in Closing Gaps, scoring 79.6 compared to the state’s 81.7. The lower score was influenced by a dip in Biology Content Mastery, which decreased by 2.9 points to 75.3. Despite this challenge, FCS continues to set the bar for academic achievement and progress.

"Our historic graduation rate and significant gains across key CCRPI measures reflect the hard work of our students, teachers, and staff,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. He further emphasized the district's commitment to addressing challenges and building on these successes. “While we recognize areas for progress, we are proud to celebrate this extraordinary achievement as we strive for even greater success.
