Natalie H. Meiguez of The Promise Career Institute is named Fulton County Schools (FCS) Teacher of the Year (TOTY) 2025-2026. Ms. Meiguez is a mathematician with a Master of Science in Foundations of Education. She has served as a teacher, grade-level chair, department chair, and district math coordinator throughout her 27-year career. She currently teaches 9th and 10th grade mathematics at The Promise Career Institute (PCI) and has been with the district for 13 years.
The Promise Career Institute is a magnet high school in College Park in its inaugural year of operation. Ms. Meiguez’s classroom experiences are a collaborative journey for students. She fosters a culture of curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, particularly in mathematics, where students often face challenges that require perseverance and creative thinking. She helps students understand the relevance of what they are learning by connecting mathematical concepts to real-world applications.
Her philosophy as an educator is, “Teaching is not just about imparting knowledge but inspiring a lifelong love of learning. My goal is to create an environment where students feel valued, challenged, and empowered to take ownership of their education. I believe that all students have the potential to succeed when given the right tools, guidance, and opportunities to explore their strengths. My classroom is a safe space where mistakes are viewed as opportunities for growth, and every student’s voice is heard and respected.”
PCI Principal Yolanda Bell recommended Ms. Meiguez with great enthusiasm. “Her unwavering dedication to her students, passion for education, and leadership within our school and beyond make her an outstanding representative of what it means to be an educator.”
Like all FCS educators, Natalie pours her heart into creating engaging, inclusive, and meaningful learning experiences. As the TOTY, she is proud to represent the dedicated, passionate, and resilient educators who make the district a place of growth and inspiration. She considers teaching a privilege and understands the importance of entrusting a school and faculty with the education of students.
